Abstract

The theoretical part provides an overview of basic approaches to motivation in the work environment, a typology of motivational tools and performance management theories. The practical part examines specific motivational systems of three companies -Möbelix, XXXLutz and Merkury Market. The research is focused on comparing financial and non-financial forms of motivation and their impact on employee performance, satisfaction and turnover. The research results show that motivation significantly affects work performance, and the best results are achieved by companies that combine fair remuneration, career growth opportunities and a positive corporate culture.
