The rise of digital technologies is driving a profound transformation in our society, affecting not only the way we communicate but also our lifestyles, work habits, and social interactions. Industry 4.0, which integrates smart technologies into production processes, represents the current industrial revolution, characterized by the digital interconnection of machines. However, this evolution raises significant challenges in terms of personal data protection, which lies at the heart of this digital transformation. The global flow of data, facilitated by the Internet and cyberspace, challenges traditional legal boundaries of protection. This work aims to examine the synergy between Industry 4.0 and personal data protection by analyzing the legal issues and international compliance strategies needed for better optimization of privacy in the digital age. © 2026 Published by Faculty of Engineering.
