The objective of this study was to analyze the influence of artificial intelligence (AI) on the sustainable business process of Peruvian entrepreneurs. A mixed approach was adopted, with a sequential explanatory design. In the quantitative phase, structured surveys were administered to 295 entrepreneurs with at least one year of experience in sustainable ventures and the use of artificial intelligence. In the qualitative phase, semi-structured interviews and a focus group were conducted with 20 key actors, consisting of established entrepreneurs and leaders of trade associations or business networks. The results showed a high positive correlation between artificial intelligence and the five dimensions of the sustainable business process: idea generation, opportunity recognition and development, business launch, and positive impact. Artificial intelligence stood out as a strategic facilitator, especially in the creation and structuring of sustainable initiatives. However, barriers such as technological gaps, lack of training, and regulatory factors were identified. Overall, it is concluded that artificial intelligence drives sustainable entrepreneurship by strengthening its initial stages, although its full exploitation depends on appropriate contextual conditions. This study provides relevant empirical evidence on the transformative role of artificial intelligence in business processes with a sustainable focus in emerging contexts such as Peru. © 2026, Universidad del Zulia.
