Abstract

Business Analytics (BA) is increasingly employed to enhance the efficiency and long-term viability of supply chains (SC). However, comprehensive and cohesive research is scarce on the impact of business analytics (BA) on many dimensions of supply chain (SC) sustainability. This study presents a research model that establishes a connection between the skills of Business Analysis (BA) and the performance and sustainability of the supply chain. This connection is mediated by the roles played by information systems (IS) and Business Process Orientation (BPO). Data is collected from diverse commercial entities in Bangladesh, and structural equation modeling is applied. The data reveals a statistically significant connection between analytical abilities and performance. Information system support has a much greater impact on moderation than business process orientation. The findings enhance our understanding of the specific domains in which business analytics can exert the greatest influence. Moreover, the report examines the current empirical evidence about the suggested relationships and identifies significant research deficiencies and obstacles. This work enhances the existing body of knowledge by providing a thorough and cohesive examination of the influence of business analytics on supply chain sustainability, while also proposing potential avenues for future research. The findings enhance our understanding of the specific domains in which business analytics can have the most significant impact. © 2026 The Author(s). Published by Elsevier Ltd.
