Abstract

This article investigates the application of generative artificial intelligence in the education of prospective primary school educators. The research highlights the need for educators to have the skills to work effectively with generative artificial intelligence for the needs of modern education. The paper presents a pilot study conducted among second year students of Elementary School Pedagogy with a Foreign Language at Paisii Hilendarski University of Plovdiv, which involved the creation of electronic educational resources using artificial intelligence. The project covers the generation of animated images with voice-overs and the production of accompanying teaching materials. The results of a survey conducted with the students showed that the task was effective in increasing their skills and confidence in using generative artificial intelligence to create e-learning resources. Working with different digital platforms and integrating them into a common educational product were cited as major difficulties. © 2026 Nikolay Danev.
