Abstract

This paper examines the role of the gastronomic offer in the rehabilitation of stigmatized tourist destinations through the application of a time-to-event analysis model. The main contribution of this study is reflected in the development of a model that quantitatively assesses the time required for the recovery of destinations following the implementation of strategic gastronomic initiatives. The paper provides deeper insights into the key factors influencing the recovery period, linking theoretical concepts of destination management with contemporary analytical methods. The findings of this study have broad applicability, enabling researchers, destination managers, and tourism policymakers to utilize the results in various regional and industrial contexts. This contributes to global knowledge on the rehabilitation of tourist destinations and sustainable tourism development. © 2026 Regional Science Association of Subotica (Drustvo za Regionalne Nauke).
