Abstract

The objective of this research is to gain a comprehensive understanding of the vast body of literature about Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB). The literature analysis utilized various bibliometric indicators such as the h-index, citations, and productivity measures. The analysis was centered on identifying the leading authors, journals, publishers, and total publications in the field. The Scopus database was utilized to retrieve 5,242 publications spanning from 1983 to 2024. The VOS viewer (Visualizing Output Similarities) was used to visually represent the scientific landscape, using bibliographic co-authorship and author keywords. According to the study’s results, the United States has emerged as the top country in the field of research, with the highest production, number of journals, citation impact, co-authorship, institutions, and authors. This review contributes to the evolution of business studies by emphasizing the role of OCB in organizational success. It broadens the scope of traditional business studies by highlighting the importance of interpersonal dynamics, leadership, and employee satisfaction, enriching management theories. It underscores how behavioral studies, once focused primarily on productivity, have evolved to incorporate the broader, nuanced dynamics of employee interactions and organizational culture, offering valuable insights for advancing management theories and practices within the business field.
