This research addresses the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on telecommunications and vice versa by testing a differentiated, two-way interaction hypothesis. It considers telecommunications as a sector with distinctive characteristics that strongly influence this shock and differentiate it from that suffered by other industries and services. The research, in the short-term, is mainly based on grey literature, i.e. company sources and reports from leading international institutions. It contains four main sections, including a literature review, problem statement, research objectives and questions, approach and materials and a specific analysis of the interaction between Telefónica and the coronavirus. © University of Barcelona, 2026.
